Healthcare Rant
My car insurance people sent me to see a doctor called a physiatrist. This is supposed to be a specialist in pain management and diagnosis. Thier goal is to see if I am still disabled enough to warrant ongoing support payments (a measly $500 a month)
I'm pretty sure if you look up quack you'll see this guy's photograph. He saw me for exactly 20 minutes. I had never seen him before and he knew nothing of my medical history. He took down some history and details on the wreck (last year--gosh has it been a year?) and did some poking and tapping. He then declared that I did not in fact have fibromyalgia (diagnosed by a well respected Canadian Rheumatologist several years ago) and that there was no bone or nerve damage from the wreck. He suggested I stop chiropractic and physiotherapy, and all of my drugs (including my antidepressants). He recommended I swim every day and take advil.
All the while asking why I walk with a cane, having to nearly catch me as I stumbled through some of the testing, and asking why I "shake so much".
No xrays or ct scan has been done in the year since my accident.
Chiropractic, physio, accupuncture, and narcotics are how I get through my day. I have had a constant headache for over a year.
Swimming and advil. Yeah that'll fix me right up.

Family health insurance is an insurance policy that covers the entire family under a single policy. Like an individual plan, family health insurance plans provide the benefits of medical expenses, surgery, emergency treatment, dental and mental health care.

Many sources also cite mental and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three sub-sections, which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Hence, one may be physically fit but may still suffer from a mental illness or have emotional problems. The "ideal triangle" is balanced in all areas.
