It is done
We finally did it. We finally replaced the wrecked Camry. Actually we replaced the old Camry in the process as well.
After nine months of PAINFUL decision making we chose a 2008 Pontiac G5 sedan, something like this one

Ours is dark blue. They gave us over $3000 worth of upgrades (including a sunroof, spoiler, xm radio, remote start and a bunch more) and 0% financing. Plus they gave us $1000 for our old 1984 Camry (complete with duct tape).
It's quite small, but the gas mileage will be a really big plus. Doug is thrilled with the 36 available radio presets (controlable from the steering wheel) and I just like how pretty it is.
At some point, I do want to buy a second vehicle. Preferably a van or crossover model. I foresee us needing more space in the not too distant future. Not because we are having more kids, but because the one that is still left at home is growing like a weed and showing interest in playing hockey. We'll need the cargo capacity. This one will seat 5, but not comfortably, and certainly not if they are teenage boys.
JohnDavid is taking the loss of his "brown car" very hard. In fact, he's pretty devestated. I saved my key for him as a souvenir. But now at least we can go visit Papaw and Baba Lou and take other trips we've been putting off for a year.
And it doesnt look like this

One new rule: Never ever drive through Dayton, OH. I think I can live with that.

I was in an accident and had to total my truck out 2 weeks ago. I'm still looking for a replacement vehicle. What made you choose a G5?
