Oxycontin is a seriously good drug.  Maybe.  Sort of.  Ive been taking it quite awhile now, heck I don't even know how long.  The first time I took it was in 1999 when I injured my back lifting something.  Then I was fine again for a bit until I had my son and my back hasn't been right since.

They tell me I have degenerative disc syndrome which basically means the discs in my spine are falling apart.  And there's nothing to be done about it.

So to live with the pain I take oxycontin--both by itself and with boosters of Endocet which is an oxy/tylenol mix.

My greates fear is that I am addicted to it.  I don't want my kids to have a mom who is a drug addict.

So I went online and found a website about <addiction treatment because I'm concerned about addiction.  It's based in the US so at first I wasn't sure how helpful it would be.  They have an online assessment you can do yourself and the whole program-the assessment, the referrals, everything but the treatment--is free.  Then I found a number for international users as well!  They even have a section on how to get help with financing the treatment.  All this from a nonprofit.

Through the information on thier website and the online assessment test I realized that my addiction is not the same kind as someone using street drugs.  My drugs are monitored by my doctor and have a benefit to my life.  That makes a difference because now I know I don't need addiction treatment and it's ok to stay on my meds.
