A learning experience

As you can probably tell if you are a regular reader of my blather, I recently signed on with PayPerPost.com.  I did this for a few very good reasons.

First, I'm an author.  This blogsite gives me the opportunity and reward for writing something of substance every day (although I'm not always a daily poster yet!).  They give me topics to write about, how many words minimum are acceptable, and blog reviews of my writing.

Second, they pay me.  Ok Im not going to get rich doing this.  But it's a process where sellers advertise on blogs and pay a little bit to the author of the blog.  Generally, it's just a few dollars per topic, and the process involves approval by the seller, but it's really great to be rewarded for my efforts.

Third, I get to learn about new products.  These sellers have something to sell or sometimes to give away, and I get to learn about it--and learn about it enough to write and tell others about it.  I've long believed we learn best through teaching so I become sort of a "mini-expert" on these products as a research them for my blog entry.

I've been signed up for about a week and it took just a day or two to get "Blather" approved as the sort of blog someone might want to advertise.  Just the approval was very exciting!

I haven't yet gotten a post approved or paid--it's a real learning experience.  I've never been a blogger before and there are specific things some posts must include.  I've also had a couple of technical problems (probably UIE's--User Interface Errors aka my own stupidity) but have found the support at PayPerPost.com is really outstanding.

My first payment will likely be only about ten bucks, but that's ten bucks for doing what I love and learning while I do it!  You just can't beat that.
