Last night they were talking extensively on TV about the Great San Francisco Earthquake of April 18, 1906. A truly amazing recovery for that city, for sure. But what I found amazing was an interview with a woman who was 9 at the time. That would make her 109 years old. Freakin' old! But can you imagine what she has seen in her lifetime? The woman was born in 1897. She's seen it turn 1900 and 2000. She's seen the progress of everything from electricity to satleite radio. As an American, she has seen her country through what, WW1 and 2, Korea, Viet Nam, and two Iraqs? Holy moses. Her parents likely were born about the time of the Civil War. Her grandad probably fought in it. Her grandchildren are my parents age. This woman is amazing. Oh the stories she would have! Well that's what Im thinking on today. |

This is truly amazing! I can only hope to be healthy enough to live that long! It would have been so awesome to see everything she has seen, definitely a very accomplished life that's for sure.

Nothing is more noble, nothing more venerable than fidelity. Faithfulness and truth are the most sacred excellences and endowments of the human mind.
